Training and volunteering with C2BU is proving to be a challenging, stretching and truly rewarding journey with God as my tour guide.
I registered for C2BU training in May, 2010. At the training, I began learning so much about a world that breaks God’s heart. The privilege of being part of the Chaplaincy training and seeing the heart, soul & passion of these amazing people is truly humbling.
I was waiting in the standby line for about a year. I couldn’t let my “boarding pass” expire. I wondered…
Now What? Where Does God Want Me? How Can I Help?
“And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.”
2 Corinthians 8:10-12
The best thing for me to do has been to simply show up! To check out the volunteer opportunities, attend the monthly trainings, be willing to help and be part of what needs to be accomplished. I am participating and being part of the mailings, special projects and Tuesday prayer time. The time I have spent meeting, getting acquainted and working alongside other volunteers is precious.
Recently, I was helping with Gala invitations. We were in the process of completing the invitation mailing when we realized we did not have enough invitations and couldn’t find the special pen. We looked at each other with blank faces. Now what?
We prayed.
The invitations were counted again. We had the right amount. That can’t be…
We counted again and we finally realized WE HAD THE PERFECT NUMBER OF INVITATIONS NEEDED and found the pen!!!
Does that remind you of the “loaves & fishes”?
The prayer time on Tuesdays as a C2BU team is so very powerful… coming together before the Lord to pray for the girls who are and will be rescued, those in juvenile hall, and all the girls being held captive by this horrendous evil of abduction and sex trafficking.
God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, His holy dwelling place.
2 Chronicles 30:27
What a privilege to be part of this very special and treasured time standing before the Lord together in prayer battling for HIS children. The Lord is truly working and fighting for all these children held in bondage.
You have made known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11
I can’t wait until the next time, awesome things are happening! God’s adventures are truly the best and I am so happy to be using my C2BU ticket!
