Every day there is a bustle of activity that occurs around Courage Worldwide. Visions are cast by Jenny. Strategies are developed by the directors. Policies need to be written. Infrastructure is needed to equip staff and volunteers with the critical tools they need to do their jobs. Events need to be thought through, planned and executed. Courage House needs to be run and minor children must be cared for 24/7. Over the past few years that I have had the honor of this position, hundreds of staff and volunteers have poured in countless hours to make everything happen. As I sat to write this blog, I was reminded of “the moments.” Each and every moment that comprises the whole of what has been accomplished. It is “the moments” of every day that are truly important and will stand out for the lifetime. While we are accomplishing great things at lightening speed, truly by the Grace of God, it is the moments with people in the process that will hold long-term value. Moments of tears and triumph. Moments of intense prayer and seeking God for direction. Moments of encouraging and being encouraged. Moments of laughter and sharing the deepest desires of our hearts. In all my years of service, I have never met a greater group of people who just simply won’t quit and who stand in unity with one another, spurring each other on to greater things. I want to thank all of you who comprise “the moments” of Courage Worldwide. You are appreciated beyond words. May you feel equipped, encouraged and empowered today to take our organization to the next level and to continue to embrace and experience “the moments.”
