Courage Worldwide invites you to RUN so they don’t have to!
On Thursday, November 24, 2016, Thanksgiving morning, we will hold our 8th Annual Elk Grove Turkey Trot. Our 5K/10K Runs support Courage House; homes for girls rescued out of sex trafficking. As of 2016, there are only about 50 beds for these girls in the entire state of California. Events like our Elk Grove Turkey Trot help support Courage Worldwide’s efforts to expand and bring more girls home to Courage House.
Runners, walkers, and kids are welcome! Our 5K/10K races are professionally timed and designed by a Certified Race Director.
We are so excited to announce our 2016 Elk Grove Turkey Trot Competition! This is a great way to bring your family, friends and co-workers together for a great cause… Courage House.
SCHOOLS * BUSINESSES * CLUBS * CHURCHES
The group that engages the most in our Turkey Trot with a tally of run registrations, day-of-event volunteers, and raising funds/sponsorships will be our winner! We will have a trophy for our Turkey Trot Business Champion, High School Champion, Club Champion, and Church Champion.
Along with your trophy comes lots of publicity in media and on social media! What a great way to help Courage House and receive positive publicity for your business, church, school or club! If you are interested in participating in our friendly competition, or if you would just like to volunteer for the Elk Grove Turkey Trot, please email events@courageworldwide.org.
Get as creative as you want with your team name while including the company/organization name. As your group registers its participants for the run, please use the same team name on all bibs so we know you are a group. As volunteers register, there is the option to include your group name as well for tracking.
When your group reaches the fundraising goal of $1000, your group will be able to have your team name/company logo on the t-shirt given to all runners (must be in by October 20th, 2016). There are a variety of ways to reach $1000. Ideas include bake sales, carwashes, and asking your employer to do matching donations. Sponsorship opportunities are a great way to show the community that your group is invested in changing lives. It will be a beautiful day to come Run! (So our girls won’t have to.)
There are vendor opportunities available at the event as well. Those participating in the competition who donated $1,000 or more can have a free 10’x10’ vendor space. (Bring your own table and pop-up, if you have one.) We encourage you to have an engaging activity like face painting or give-a-ways such as lollipops, candy, balloons, or stickers to hand out to participants.
Come Run for CourageTM and help us bring more girls home to Courage House this year! For more information about our run, email run@courageworldwide.org. AWESOME tech shirts & medals will be given to runners who register by the deadline. Run or walk with friends, family and co-workers! Help us bring more girls home to Courage House.
