Founder
JENNY WILLIAMSON
Jenny Williamson is a business leader, social entrepreneur, life coach, published author, abolitionist, community volunteer, and a passionate, inspirational motivational speaker. She is the Founder and CEO of Courage Worldwide, an international non-profit organization providing safe houses and resources to child victims of sex trafficking around the world. Under Jenny’s leadership, Courage Worldwide transformed from all volunteers with no income to a multi-million dollar organization with thirty paid employees, over fifteen hundred active volunteers, and two long-term residential care facilities—one in Northern California and one in Tanzania, Africa. The Courage Worldwide team has created extensive training curriculum for those working with or desiring to work with minor victims of sex trafficking.
Through personal passion and professional leadership, Jenny has influenced national policy with regard to the issue of child sex trafficking due to her ground-breaking work with these vulnerable victims. Jenny led her team in creating a blueprint for success by developing—from scratch—a proven model of restoration in a long-term residential setting. Jenny has spearheaded community campaigns to involve individuals, faith-based organizations, and business and government leaders in a collaborative effort to meet the needs of child victims impacted by the crime of sex trafficking.
Jenny has testified at a Congressional Hearing about her work in victim restoration and has worked with members of the U.S. House and Senate, along with state and local governments, to influence policy relating to at-risk youth in the United States. Jenny has appeared on the Gretchen Carlson FOX 40 News Show, in addition to other local and national news and radio shows, and in various print media features. She and Courage Worldwide were featured in a documentary on child sex trafficking in the U.S. titled “In Plain Sight”. Mira Sorvino, Academy Award Winning Actress and United Nations Ambassador to Combat Human Trafficking, calls Jenny Williamson “a courageous advocate for the vulnerable and the voiceless.”
For her leadership, impact, and efforts in the community, Jenny has been recognized nationally, receiving awards which include the prestigious FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award, the Sacramento District Attorney Community Spirit Award, and the Community Impact Award from William Jessup University. Because of her leadership and expertise in the field of human trafficking, Jenny was invited to be part of both the California Attorney General’s Working Group and Shared Hope International’s Practitioners Working Group for their National Colloquium meeting in Washington, D.C. She was awarded the prestigious L’Oréal of Paris, Women of Worth Award and was named one of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Points of Light Honorees.
As a professionally-trained life coach and results-driven business leader, Jenny is a sought after keynote speaker and is known for her energetic and encouraging messages to audiences of all kinds and all sizes. Whether 500 or 5000, male or female, young or old, attendees are engaged and challenged to respond to her powerful call to action. Motivated by the desire to see all people equipped, encouraged, and empowered to discover and fulfill their own water-walking, giant-slaying, history-making destiny, Jenny’s passion is uniquely communicated through her writing and her powerful speaking. Her candid, humor-filled approach is relevant and life-impacting, and her message of unique purpose is inspiring.
Jenny has written three books: Transitions, published by Courage Publishing in 2013 and Do You Have the Courage to Be You?, published by Next Century Publishing 2015. Jenny was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where her family still resides, but relocated with her husband, Michael, to Northern California for business in 1992. She and Michael co-own an energy consulting business called Williamson Energy, Inc. where Jenny has served as the Chief Financial Officer since 2000. Jenny has a master’s degree in organizational leadership from William Jessup University. She is a mother to three adult biological sons, two adopted adult daughters, and many other young girls who now call Courage House home.
