Well, my time in America is coming to a close. The last three months have been wonderful and refreshing, but I am definitely looking forward to this next year in Tanzania. My heart is full of expectation as I start to imagine what God might have in store for this year. When I left in November, we had just completed the first phase of renovations on the Courage House. We plan to complete those renovations in April, and are still looking for volunteers to help. If you are interested in painting and building, this is a great opportunity for you to serve! The home still needs to be painted and bunk beds need to be installed. Outside, we are planning to plant a large vegetable garden and build a chicken coop.
In August (19-29) we plan to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and funds for Courage to Be You. The highest peak on the mountain is named Uhuru Peak, which means freedom in Swahili. We are excited about this opportunity to climb and proclaim freedom for the captives. We plan to have no more than 12 on the team, so if you are interested, let us know as soon as possible.
