City officials take a stand against human trafficking with Courage Worldwide

The Elk Grove City Council announced this week they joined law enforcement, nonprofit and religious organizations in denouncing human trafficking in the region and throughout the world.

The announcement came during a special press conference on the topic in the Elk Grove City Council Chamber on Jan. 11.

Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis declared the city’s zero tolerance stand against human trafficking, which includes both sex and labor trafficking.

“Today, my fellow council members and I join voices around the globe with a message for those who deal in human trafficking: We will not tolerate your business in our city,” he said.
